Now that we are about a month after the May runoff election in Los Angeles, I've been reflecting a lot about the impact that running for office has made on me and those close to me. I was happy to see my (new) friend Mitch O'Farrell eventually win the seat on the Los Angeles City Council that I also ran for. He is a committed community organizer who has hit the ground running - and I am proud to have endorsed him in the runoff.
Many people have asked me "what comes next". The truth is, I am not sure.
Steve Jobs once said:"You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."
I hope you help me to connect in dots in the future. Let's keep the dialogue going on issues facing our community.
